Premium IOLs in College Station
At International EyeCare, our vision correction surgeons provide leading-edge treatments for our College Station cataract surgery patients, including a variety of intraocular lenses, or IOLs, to best accommodate our patients’ needs following cataract surgery. These advanced IOLs, including monofocal, multifocal, and Toric IOLs, can help patients sustain clear vision over their lifetime.
An intraocular lens, also known as an IOL, is an artificial lens that is used to replace the eye’s natural lens during cataract surgery. These IOLs make it possible for cataract patients to see without the help of contact lenses or eyeglasses after cataract surgery. Not all IOLs are the same, however. During a comprehensive consultation, the experienced surgeons at International EyeCare will evaluate your condition and explain the differences in each type of IOL so that you can make the best treatment decision.
A monofocal IOL gives patients the ability to see at one distance, either far, intermediate, or near. Patients who choose a monofocal IOL should understand that they will need to wear corrective eyewear for certain activities. This type of IOL is ideal for patients who have pre-existing vision conditions such as glaucoma or another retinal disease. Our practice offers the latest monofocal IOLs including Tecnis™ and AcrySoft IQ™. These lenses use advanced vision technology to provide the sharpest vision quality possible. We are also pleased to provide the Crystalens, an accommodating IOL which actually shifts its position in the eye, allowing patients to see at various distances.
Mutltifocal IOLs are designed to help patients see at all distances, without the aid of glasses or contacts. These IOLs are ideal for patients who do not have other vision conditions. Our office provides patients the options of the ReZoom™ and ReStor lenses, as well as the Toric IOL which is approved for patients who suffer from astigmatism. These IOLs allow patients to reduce or even eliminate their dependence on corrective eyewear.
The physicians at International EyeCare offer several treatment options and IOLs to our College Station, Texas patients. If you are interested in learning more about how intraocular lenses can improve your vision, contact our practice today to schedule a comprehensive consultation.
